D&Z Customs Randy Johnson

D & Z Customs LLC was founded in 2007 by Randy and Tobie Johnson, his wife of 14 years.

With the aspiration of realizing a dream, their choice for the business name was inspired by what

truly matters most to both of them, their two children Dylan, 9 and Zoey, 5.

Randy’s passion for mechanical tinkering began at a very young age. Being primarily self taught,

as a boy he spent his days watching and helping his friends rebuild classic cars. When he wasn’t

puttering on something in the yard he was buried in his most recent editions of car magazines

(which by the way his mother found was the only way to get young Randy interested in reading initially)

brushing up on the latest resto techniques and dreaming of his next “toy”.

Randy graduated high school in West Bend, WI and decided to take his classic car knowledge and

skills to a new level. Every new project offered him an opportunity to gain more advanced techniques

which Randy continually applies to his already vast skill set.

Randy has an inborn ability to create what truly become automotive works of art that are meant to be

driven. This is apparent as his various builds have been featured in numerous magazines over the past

10 years. Most recently he acclaimed recognition of 1^st place for Street Machine of the Year, Muscle

Machine Division, at the 2008 Car Craft Summer Nationals in St. Paul, Minnesota with his recently finished 1966 retro mod Chevelle.

Most of all Randy loves to watch his clients “dream car” become a tangible reality and truly shares their

rush of excitement when he delivers exactly what they were picturing. Quite possibly, even more.
