D & Z Customs, a true family business.

D & Z Customs, LLC. was founded in 2007 by husband and wife Randy and Tobie Johnson. Having realized a dream they had aspired to for several years, they chose a business name inspired by what truly matters most to both of them—their two children Dylan and Zoey.

A passion for tinkering and classic cars.

Randy’s passion for mechanical tinkering began at a very young age. As a boy he spent his days watching and helping friends rebuild classic cars. When he wasn’t working on cars he was buried in his most recent issues of car magazines brushing up on the latest vehicle restoration techniques and dreaming of his next “toy”. His mother now says the only way she could get young Randy interested in reading was to let him read car magazines.

Randy graduated high school in West Bend, WI and decided to take his classic car knowledge and skills to a new level. Every new project offered him an opportunity to gain more knowledge and learn advanced techniques, which Randy eagerly applied to his vast skill set.

Award-winning art on wheels.

Creative vision and technical skill give Randy the ability to create what truly become automotive works of art that are meant to be driven. Others agree. His custom cars have been featured in numerous magazines over the past 10 years. Most recently D & Z Customs received highly-acclaimed 1st place prize for Street Machine of the Year, Muscle Machine Division, at the 2008 Car Craft Summer Nationals in St. Paul, Minnesota with his recently finished 1966 retro mod Chevelle.

Bringing custom car dreams to reality.

Most of all Randy loves to watch his clients “dream car” become a tangible reality. He truly shares his clients’  rush of excitement when he delivers exactly what they were picturing in a custom car. Quite possibly, even more.
